  • 4 slices of cooked ham
  • 100 g grated cheese (Emmental, Cheddar, or Gruyère)
  • 2 tablespoons of softened butter
  • Mustard (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Chopped fresh herbs for garnish (parsley, chives, etc.)

Instructions :

  1. Preheating: Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).

  2. Preparation of ingredients: Remove the ham slices from the refrigerator so that they reach room temperature. Grate the cheese if you haven't already done so. Also let the butter soften at room temperature.

  3. Buttering the slices of bread: Lightly spread the softened butter on one side of each slice of bread. If you like, you can add a thin layer of mustard to the unbuttered side for a tangier flavor.

  4. Assembly: Place two slices of cooked ham on one of the buttered slices of bread. Then distribute half of the grated cheese over the ham.
